Turmeric Latte Golden Milk

Description

The Curcumin found in the turmeric contributes to many of the health benefits this drink holds. It is anti-inflammatory, immune boosting and lowers your risk of heart disease. It's a very soothing and comforting warm drink to have a the end of the night before bed.

Directions

In a small saucepan, whisk milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
 

Lower the heat and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and add sweetener, if using.
 

Using a strainer, divide the turmeric milk into two cups.

Ingredients

2 cups almond milk or coconut milk
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1½ inch fresh ginger, grated, or ⅛  ground ginger
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of black pepper
1 teaspoon honey
(Optional/fun fact: Black pepper is super important when it comes to turmeric beverages because it supports the  absorption of curcumin.)
