This naturally sweetened smoothie bowl is a deliciously rich and sweet treat and a wonderful way to meet your protein goals.
The cocoa powder contains polyphenols, antioxidants that help to improve cholesterol and blood suger levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Cocoa is also rich in theobromine, which helps to reduce inflammation.
Directions
Step 1
Put the almond milk in a high speed blender, then add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. The smoothie should have a thick, soft serve-like texture. If using a vitamix use the temper to move things. You can add a bit more milk if your blender is having a hard time blending it.
Step 2
Spoon the smoothie into a bowl and add your desired toppings. Enjoy immediately!

½ cup unsweetened almond milk, plus more if needed
1 very large frozen banana, chopped
2 tablespoons avocado
1 scoop neutral-flavored protein powder
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 to 3 pitted medjool dates, or liquid sweetener, to taste
1 or 2 ice cubes (optional)
